Function more comfortably...

What we do

Most housing, even in the wealthiest nations, lacks basic accessibility features unless the immediate occupant of a home currently has a disability. Even including those households, about 40% of disabled people feel that their housing situation makes them unnecessarily dependent on other people. Still in many cases it is not necessarily an issue of attaining complete independence, but simply to function more comfortably and easily in one’s own home. At some point either you or a relative who comes to live with you may have certain needs to improve the ability to function in your home. From entry ramps and walkways to lever hardware and grab-bars, we will determine a list of items to help the disabled or elderly live a more comfortable life.

Statistic:

  • 51.2 million Americans (over 18% of the population) have some level of disability.
  • Less than 3% of Americans live in homes with any accessibility features.
  • 32.5 million Americans (11.5% of the population) have a severe disability.
  • Single-family residential homes are not covered by the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Fair Housing Act, or any other federal law to make them accessible to the disabled.
  • 20.9 million American families have at least one member with a disability.
  • 4.1 million families reported one or more members who had difficulty functioning within, or getting around inside the home.
